A booking will not be secured until we have received the agency fee/deposit

In the case of home and pet sitting, our rates apply to a couple or a single sitter. In order to set the basic rate for the sitter at £31.00 per 24 hour period, or part thereof (discretionary charges will apply where a period is 12 hours or less) we can only contract our sitters to remain on your premises for 20 out of the 24 hours.

Most sitters will, of course, choose to be on your premises for longer than 20 hours, but we cannot contract them to do so unless you pay for extra time. The sitters will not leave the premises for more than 4 hours per day.

Some of our sitters are prepared to work during the Christmas and New Year period. In this case the sitting fee is charged at double rate for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Easter, Spring and August Bank Holidays carry a £10 supplement only and the subsistence allowance remains at £8.00 per 24 hours in every case.

Loss of the agency fee, unless the cancellation is made earlier than 14 days prior to the commencement of the booking. In this case the agency fee will be held in credit against future bookings, less 50% administration charge.

Clients must ensure they have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to the sitters before commencement of the service.

Services should be booked as far in advance as possible.  Whilst we may be able to accept last minute bookings, if less than 48 hours’ notice is given for the cancellation of a dog walking or home visiting service a 50% charge will be added to your account.

Should you require a service over Christmas and Easter bank holidays the rate will be double.  All other bank holidays are one and half times the normal rate.

Clients must ensure they have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to the sitters before commencement of the service.

In order to validate our insurance you must have completed and returned the permissions sent to you by email.

The client shall not, other than through While You're Away Ltd., engage any of the agency's sitters to provide house and pet sitting services. In the event of breach of this condition the client shall indemnify While You're Away Ltd. against all loss and expense suffered by While You're Away Ltd. in consequence of the breach. The agency will be entitled to a fee equal to ten times the remuneration paid by the client to the agency.

Should a sitter be taken ill or for any reason is not able to complete the assignment, the agency will use its best endeavours to make alternative arrangements.

We make every effort to maintain high standards of integrity and reliability among our sitters and to provide a suitable sitter in accordance with the booking. However we cannot accept liability to the client other than for loss or damage to property or injury to a pet resulting from our negligence. Our liability to the client for loss or damage to property shall not exceed £5 million and injury to pets shall not exceed £25,000.00. Clients must also ensure that they have completed and returned the necessary paperwork to their sitter in order to validate insurance.

By signing this contract you give your permission for the use of your personal data, which is protected by While You're Away Ltd. and, as and when appropriate, is shared only between While You're Away Ltd., client and sitter.

You must notify the sitter of the use and location of any CCTV or monitoring equipment prior to commencement of a sit.
