While You’re Away now has over 100 house sitters and pet sitters on their books, spread around the area we cover, with many still with us from our start in 1995.
We are only as good as our home sitters so we take great care in their recruitment. In order to ensure that home sitters are competent, totally trustworthy, reliable and, of course, animal lovers, we interview potential pet minders in their own homes and take up two independent character references for each. Most are early-retired/retired with a zest for life and the nature of the job means they are caring people - all are active with experience of pets and indeed of home care. We have many couples on our books but also single sitters and we match them with clients’ requirements.
Our house sitters and pet sitters are regularly asked to do repeat assignments and, of course, this is the optimum arrangement for both parties. Some clients even arrange their holidays around the sitter’s availability. We have many unsolicited compliments from satisfied clients, such as….
